Sprinkler valves are almost guaranteed to work straight away.

Sprinkler Valves = Easy use.

Piston Valves = A whole lot of tinkering.
If you just think about it good before doing things you wont screw up your piston valve.
Just get something that fits in, maybe put tape around it and put inner bike tire stuff on the front and voila, you got a piston.

Its not that hard, and its WAY cheaper and WAY more powerful :)
