Metal Pipe

It has been suggested that I make a piston valve for my new pneumatic spud gun. (I posted pictures of it last week). I want to make the piston valve from steel pipe. Most of the examples I have seen here use PVC fittings to make the valve housing. Has anybody made one out of steel pipe and would you be willing to share with me any suggestions as to how best to make this valve?

They have been made.
They, in my opinion are harder to do in threaded pipe.(unless its a coaxial
but I hear copper is the best to work with when it comes to pistons.

Yeah, use copper, unless you can obain stainless steel pipe. Galvanized steel pipe is really rough on the inside, and that would affect a pistons ability to seal and it might damage the seals when the piston moves.
