Well here is my 2in piston cannon.
It has a similar name to my PG(Piston gun) but this is a bit larger so I went with PC(Piston cannon).
Here it is(pic is a little blurry, I know)
Image

Specs
Chamber:2in by 38in sch40 pvc
Barrel:1.5in sdr21 50in long
Piston Valve:2in tee with 1.25in porting(bought the wrong sized reducer)
Piston:1.25in coupling with a neophrene sealing face bolted to the top, and it is half filled with hot glue.
Exhaust:3/4in sprinkler stolen from my ISM
Fill setups: I have a schrader for a bike pump and a quick connect for my dry ice tank setup(tank I dump dry ice in and close off, and yes it is regulated)

This gun is very basic, nothing special about it. But it works great, makes my ears ring at anywhere above 90psi(in a closed garage that is).

The only thing that seperates this from the normal 2in piston cannon is that it has a perfectly calculated length the piston moves back, according to the D/4 rule that is. So it is very efficient making it quite powerful for its size. It has next to no pilot volume at all making it even more effecient.
I think I have made JSR proud

Here is a couple vids
followed by a couple pics

Good job BB! Good performing pneumatic GB gun. Aesthetics could be improved some...a hose clamp could easily replace that packing tape job ya know...I know I know you're keeping the packing tape...

Thanks for taking the time to take some videos.

Really nice gun. to get through that 2x4 just put against something sturdy like a cinderblock and it will slice through it like butter.

yay, 200 posts! :D

Great post.
I think its terrific anytime someone makes their own piston guns. Everything looks very clean... well, except the tape (I know, you won't change it.) It amazes me how many spudders use manual pumps. Oh well; it builds character, as well as a bit of muscle and heightens your appreciation of each shot.
Happy hunting.

Good job. I would go with the clamp and a piece of 11/2 in. pvc for the barrel and chamber brace. File the ends to fit the contour of the barrel and chamber.

Starman:guess what, the packing tape is getting replaced with black duct tape. Should look a little better.
And the whole gun is getting a paint job this weekend, a chrome paint job.

FordGTman: Ill try that tonight

Willarddaniels:Maybe, just maybe i might go spend a buck or two on a hose clamp this weekend. If you are really lucky that is.
And the only reason i use a bike pump is I dont have the money to buy an air compressor that would be any more useful than this.
I like that you can take it anywhere and that it is more reliable than any compressor will ever be.

Velocity:actually almost no thought at all went into this thing. The only thing i thought about was the amount the piston moved back.

JSR:
That non alcoholic beer sounds good

sniper hero: I did a buckshot and got a vid of it
the only thing is that I missed  .

Awesome!!! You were pretty intent on busting the 2x4 in half  If it had been braced better I'm sure it would've. (couldn't watch the video until now)

You don't even need a $1hose clamp, you could just use metal or doubled over tin and drill a hole through and bolt it. I used some strapping stuff with holes on the Thunderpup and it looks better than hose clamp IMO.

Now I want a piston valved GB too!!! 8)

Yeah, wouldnt want to be handing out beers to little children such as myself

And thunderlord
Im going to go outside right now, brace the 2 by 4 better and fire at 120psi. Ill get a vid too
And that homemade hoseclamp idea is good, Ill try that sometime.
