I'll be leaving soon to study(out of state). and i can't take any of my air cannons, and i don't want to leave it the garage when am not there. because my dad LOVES to take them and shoot things that you should not shot.

so i was thinking of storing them in my room, and i thought i can put them in my attic but i don't know if the attic is a good place. (to hot)

so my question is can i put my projects/air cannons in the attic?? (i live in Florida)

You are probably better off leaving them in your room (unless your parents have something planned for your room as soon as you move out ).

no they dont when am done (9 months later) am going to move back

9 months? thats enough time to have a baby!

How hot does your attic get?

remember heat rises and in flordia its very warm sometimes. If you have your guns painted chances are that paint will get a little hot and might get sticky. here in WI I tried to do the same thing and as I lifted a cannon, the paint stuck between the two parts and I had to resand both surfaces and repaint.

idk how hot it get's but my dad goes inside the attic and in like 5 mins and it comes but all wet!

It will get 100 - 150 degrees F in an attic in the Florida summer. Less if it has a powered vent, more if not. Your dad sweats for very good reason when he goes up there.

I wouldn't put them up there but maybe that's just me.

but can the heat damage the pvc?

Heat can cause PVC to warp over time. Warping certainly is not good for the structure of the PVC, so yes, I would assume that heat does weaken the PVC.

Consider this: At 73 degrees Fahrenheit, PVC is at its maximum strength. So a piece of 2" SCH 40 PVC pipe would have a pressure rating of 280 PSI. However, when the heat goes up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the pressure rating of this pipe would be 173.6 PSI. If the heat got up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit (as starman said it might), the pressure rating would be a mere 61.6 PSI. <a href="http://www.harvel.com/pipepvc-sch40-80- ... asp">Check it out yourself</a>. I am pretty sure that constant exposure to temperatures that have the ability to "derate" the pressure rating of the PVC pipe will permanently weaken the pipe over time.

How do you trigger your guns? If you use a qev, blow gun or similar just take that peice off and you can't use it. So you could keep it in the garage.
