Recently, I've been playing with sprinkler valves and I have come to the conclusion that these are just about the perfect valve to use on a pneumatic launcher, especially for beginners.
I've searched these forums, as well as the rest of the web and obtained as much information as possible, then I sat down, and learned all about them through hands-on experience.
After that, I decided to write it all down. Basically, this is a compilation of things that are found across the web and my own personal experiences with them.
I agree with you that these are good valves. I have taken my one inch valve up to 200 psi a few times with no problems. I have heavily modfied my blowgun and am still looking for 1/8 inch rubber, home depot only has 1/16 inch.

home depot only has 1/16 inch.
Then get two pieces. That's what I did.

Did you glue them together?

You are correct sir. They are a great valve to use on pretty much any pneumatic. After the completion of my advanced combustion cannon I am going to start on a pneumatic cannon. I'm sticking with all PVC construction so I'll keep it at 150 psi maybe 200psi. All this is going to be made possible with this bad boy!

Nah. They are neoprene washers and I bolted them together.

Does replacing the diaghram open quicker or does it alow more flow? What is the largest barrel you have used with a sprinkler vlave?

I've used a 2" barrel with a 1" valve.
As far as opening goes, it seems that it opens more, which allows more flow.

I use this for firing Nerf mini vortex. It works great with a 1:1 ratio.

I do not really slike sprinklers, too bulky and hard to find(if you come to switzerland then you will belive me). I think hammer valves and piston valves are far better, but thats just my two cents.

There is lots on the wiki about sprinklers and there are some good vids on youtube that show how to mod it
