What to use as a Bumper?

Hi everyone,
I has been along time since my last post on here and i am glad to say that i have finished my 2" Tee housed Piston GB Gun. Even better to say is is works great, but the gun has one downfall. The Bumper. The bumper i have been using is just garden hose, this works great for about 4 to 5 shots, but by the 6 or more shot the hose and been crushed so badly it is no longer able to cushion the piston when it is moving backwards.
This is why i am looking for a new bumper, I have been thinking about using a pool noodle but i am not sure how well it will work? I have been thinkign that when it is under pressure it will shrink and will not re-expand quick enough to cushion the piston.
has anyone else used a pool noodle as a bumper? and if so how well does it work? Along with this what else makes a good reliable bumper?
Thanks for the help, you guys are always great at that.

PS. I will hopefully have pictures of my gun on here soon ocne i get ahold of a camera.
