Hey. This is my first post on this site. I have made a combustion and a ball valve pneumatic gun, but I am wanting to make this gun that i saw and was wondering if i could get some help identify some parts of it. I filled in some that i think i know and circled fittings that i am not sure of. If anyone can identify parts of this gun that would be great.

I plan on making it out of SCH 80 so the primary chamber will hold much more than the firing chamber; which i dont plan on putting over 12-150 PSI.

here is a like to the site [http://www.spudgunextreme.com/images_pr ... annon1.JPG].

The yellow circle are ones i have no clue of but if anyone wants to label the other fittings that would be great. [/img]

It is a gun with a big chamber that leads to a regulator that leads to a smaller chamber which leads to a sprinkler valve and a barrel.

I was curious about the raised parts on the 3 in pipe and also in the middle of the 2.5 in. I thought these might be to reinforce it.

They are couplings from what I can see. Not sure why it's done, but that's what it looks like.

Do you think that the pipe is cut or these are slid over it? Could they be to direct the air flow?

They are slip couplings, My only guess is they did this to increase the strength of the pipe in that spot for some reason or just for looks. The pip slides into this increasing wall thickness

Thanks, any other suggestions in the building of this gun?

Did you try sending the builder a PM?

Yes, the reply was something along the lines of "buy one and find out", but i think i can build one for much less than $400.

Any ideas about what the tubing is? and it is attached to the primary chamber by a nipple fitting, right?

Who's cannon is it? Post a link to the thread.

It is not a cannon on this site. It is from a site that sells spud guns.

It's this one.

400 bucks is a bit steep, ah well. You can build a better one for much less ;)

Sounds a little rude, but I could see him trying to copyright the design to protect his "Design" to sell multi shot launchers. The function of the long tank is for high pressure to supply multiple shots, so the function is known. The rings could just be for supporting the gun to the tank. I noticed there is only one hose clamp. That is the clue I picked up on. I am assuming the rear parts are joined with hardware recessed in the rear mystery coupler and bolted to the gun chamber so a strap is not needed. That's my guess.

The front one is to support the front of the gun and not have the strap bend the PVC and cause a failure of the high pressure supply tank.

I may be grasping at straws, but this is my theories.

Using SCH 80 piping I estimate it will cost around $150 ( SCH 3" and 2" fittings are $$$$. Currently the only thing i am having trouble finding it 1/4 in tubing ( located on the bottom of picture).

The other question i have is what fitting to use to connect the tube to the primary chamber.

If I remember correctly "nick", (nicknickdavid) something like that was a active member here for a little while about 2 years ago. I remember the website now that I see it again.
