The best thing about this is that you got the family involved
Have you considered using a burst disk for more power?

Makes me wonder how much pressure can be achieved using this method??? Was there a limit per the contest rules?jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:The best thing about this is that you got the family involved

Depends on the concentration and quantity of the chemicals being used, and the size of the chamber in which they are contained.

Only up to a point. Eventually you reach the pressure limit of CO2 in air versus dissolved in the water. Once you reach that limit most of the additional CO2 stays in the water.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:Depends on the concentration and quantity of the chemicals being used, and the size of the chamber in which they are contained.
A pretty good estimate of the maximum pressure you can obtain with vinegar and bicarb is that it'll reach the same pressure as a bottle of carbonated soda. The pressure in a can of soda depends on the temperature and the amount of CO2 dissolved in the water. Typically values at room temperature are in the 30 to 60 PSIG range.
