Vortex Cannon Using Piston Valve [IN PROGRESS]

Hi guys,
This is my first time in these forums and I love them, you really have plenty of useful information here.
I am planning on building a vortex cannon. I already tried using combustion and a simple pneumatic cannon with a ball valve but neither worked. Now I want to try this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdEYYhwz2NY. I'm not sure what mechanism he used but I think this is similar and could work: https://youtu.be/G1VCZEXi384.
I wanted to ask you guys for advice before I start, do you think this could work?
