im new to this site but not new to spud guns. Im in drawing right now for another one, but i dont really understand the concept of sprinkler valves.
i need to know two things...
A. Where to get one
B. What to do with it
anything would be helpful...thanx
sprinkler valves?
Mostly used for irrigation applications so look at those type of stores. They come either pneumatic actuated (most common) or electric actuated. Basically its it blocks air then releases it like any other valve but as high opening speeds. I believe they are threaded too.

You can get them at about any Lowes or Home depot. They are threaded on each end, mostly 3/4 or 1 in. They are just quick release valves that most people mod. Check out how-to and find out more. And, Good Luck.
you wont find a pneumatic actuated sprinkler valve in lowes or home depot because the valve is designed to be used with water and be leak proof. The valve wont even leak if the diaphragm rips (water use). Pneumatic modification to the valve allows quicker venting of the pilot area (air above the diaphragm that triggers valve opening) by allowing it to escape a larger hole to the outside instead of through the solenoid hole (which simply vents to the exhaust of the valve itself)

thanx guys..i went to Home Depot tonight and they didn't have one...i hope i get to go to lowes sometime over the next few days. I did buy a blowgun though.
Does it matter which company makes them, or are they all the same?
also, does it have to have any special parts in/on it?
will this work?

No No that one works fine. I've made a gun using the solenoid electric valve and I can put paintballs through rubbermade trash cans and metal doors. It looks identical to that.(the gray one)
I use 70 psi and I get 5 or 6 shots per tank with the valve with a momentary (button) switch.

I ment one that is already modded.Anon wrote:Yes but arent people modding them and using blow guns to pneumatically actuate them?frankrede wrote:I have yet too see one that has pneumatic actuation.
They all have solenoids which is electrically actuated.
Lol.
I mean out of the box.

you could double/triple the power if the valve was modified, and i have a hard time beleiving that paintballs are going through a rubbermaid trash can, even if they were frozenTHEMOST wrote:No No that one works fine.
