Pressure Washer Power
Hi, I haven't posted for a while........Stupid school work
ANYWAYS,,,, would there be some way for me to use a pressure washer to pressurize a chamber? There is the pressure washer we just got, I cant use that one, but anyway it gave me an idea
! What if you could just like take it apart, then change the water-air mixture somehow so it doesnt burn up, and at the same time it doesn't put a lot of water in the chamber. The hose has a threaded fitting, so you could connect it to something..........

yeah it wouldn't do anything because you would fill it with water but then pressurize it with air so it would work just that same as an air compresor except it would be filled with water too.
Jrrdw, you seemed to have came down with a bad case of 'off-topic' posting. Please refrain from it seeing as I already deleted one of your posts a few hours ago sending you a PM concerning it, and to specifically 'refrain' from it in the future.
By adapting the pressure water nozzle to a cylinder, this cylinder containing a piston, and a check valve at the other end. This would allow you convert from the water pressure to the air pressure you want. While id suspect this project to never get off the ground, id suggest that utlizing the max pressure of the 'pressure washer' neither good for the machine itself and the project your working on.

Those things need water or they overheat. Here's an idea, put a ball valve on the bottom (vertical bottom) of the chamber, when you use the washer it will have water in the chamber and air, open the ball valve and the water will get pushed out then shut it when the water is gone, then just keep filling until you get whatever pressure you want.

pressure is pressure. No difference in air pressure or water pressure. Only differenc is when the thing is overpressurized and breaks up. With water, it will crack, due to the fact that a flued almost cant get pressed together. When it crack on airpressure, the air will blow away the pieces, so it actualy explodes like a grenade. Very dangerous.
There by, if you want to do a pressure test, first fill the object to be tested with water. That's safer.

POS, some where here there was a video of a pressure test with water, if i remember correctly it took 1029psi to crack the PVC pipe filled with water.

I know that they overheat without water, because they have an impeller inside. I was just wondering if you could Lower the amount of water outputted. I would probably use steel pipe and not pvc,,,,,,,but anyway, I wouldn't HAVE to fill it up with that much pressure. If anyone has any material suggestions please post. Due to the fact that it has such high pressure, I would probably fire corks or something, so that I dont have some heavy, totally unpredictable ammo totally missing the target and damaging something. NOT that corks arent upredictable, they are just less likely to damage something badly.

EDIT: Nicholae, how would that send the pressure washer a few hundred yards!? It may be 1400psi......but it is only 1.6gpm, due to a small diameter hose.
