Dual FireExtinguisher Paintball Rifle(Video/Update 21/06/07)

Well took me awhile but here it is.....

It uses two 1kg Fire Extinguishers welded to 15mm(1/2") brass fittings, I have added a ball valve as a safety to stop accidental mis-fires. It sports a 1" Pneumatically Modded Sprinkler Valve and a 44" long 3/4" paintball barrel with breech loader. The camera tripod was purchased for $2.50 as it was broken(1 Screw fixed it :D) I don't use it to fire just for display. I have a schrader valve and a quick connect(w/ ball valve) as my filling station. The schrader sports a 9mm shell as its cover thanks to Schmanman :P . The Fe's weigh alot thats why they are balancing on the car. The breech is a simple hole in the barrel and a hole in a 1/2" coupling thing which is O-Ring sealed and can be tighten and loosen to seal properly.

Very nice. Uber-clean construction, well designed, well built. A+.

What pressure have you taken it up to? How high is the sprinkler valve rated? What size is the "safety" ball valve?

Great job.

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

Very nice! That looks really sharp. Did you leave the solenoid thingie on the sprinkler valve or am I just seeing things?

Thanks Pete
1.100psi but it leaked down to 80psi,I fixed the leak though but its getting late and im tired tomorrow ill go to my compressors max of 115psi.
2:10BAR(145psi)
3.15mm(1/2"), The whole brass fitting configuration with the tee and the steel elbows are all 15mm.
I had the ball valve flat and straight like normal, but I tilted it and now I can 'take the saftey off' with my thumb instead of repositioning my hands to balance the gun and what not.
Edit: Flying Salt, the solenoid is still on as I can rest my hand on it without resting it on the blow gun, its alot better as well more comfortable.

lol, nah all my sinkers are accouunted for.......apart from two  , which I chucked away as they hit the concrete ball and went flat...its really back heavy im going to move the camera stand thing I made to where the ball valve is,Ill have to dremel it a bit to make it fit but it'll be fine.
The pipe is 15mm PN18 pressure pipe, fits paintballs really nice.

Great job with this gun! I love how people always get their feet in their pictures. Man this looks good.

The barrel looks a little bent in the picture but is it really that droopy?

With the lead weights I wouldn't worry about contamination unless you shoot lots of them. Just dont lick your hands or chew on the weights. I have had problems with the weights an poor penetration and flattening on impact. The soft lead also isn't reusable with my experiences.

Great job and keep the good guns coming.

"I love how people always get their feet in their pictures"

You said that last time I got my feet in a pic :P

The barrel isnt bent its just that the FE's weigh so much on the camera stand, thats why I noly have it on the stand for display
The barrel is really straight, when I was building this I zip-tied a piece of wood to the barrel to straighten it out.

Poor penetration? What? Did you see that 15mm thick MDF board? Im yet to shoot marbles, thats the only other solid thing apart from sinkers and PB's that I can shoot with this barrel, I do have a 10mm copper one though

Cool gun man, with the soft lead you got some hollow point style action going. Would look nice in some home made ballistics gel.

Ooooooooooh......its all shiny..........I love it!
Please shoot a stack of CD's and get a video.

Oh, and you are wrong about using it in paintball.......you would nail the f*ck out of one guy and everyone else would be too scared to come near you
