Ladies & Gentz,

Just wanted to say Thanx for all the help. This community answered many questions and of course “sparked” many more.

I built this, my first pneumatic, for paintball. I’m sure the spud bug will have me make more in the future.

For those into paintball; I have attached a regulator so I can run a remote to my 3k/68i. I will be hunting tanks and the occasional bunker in and around NC

Sch80 for the 90s. Everything else is sch40 painted O.D. but the catridge.

The cartridge is ABS so I can carry preloaded Nerfs. Question for the experts: I understand ABS is not the best material due to its cellular composition, but with the small surface area and being a part of the barrel anyone see a safety issue? My kids have a father; I plan on keeping it that way. Comments on the ABS cartridge would be greatly appreciated.

Nice gun, are you going to the Vietnam patrol game on may 12?
And that cartridge shouldn't be a problem given that it sees very little pressure as the nerf exits the barrel.If you at all feel uneasy about it switch to pvc that is what I use.

ABS is fine for barrels, and in some cases, preferred.
Its strong and lightweight.

@Bluemax,

The ABS is just fine. It's not good to pressurize it frequently or for long periods of time (so it's no good for chambers) - but as a part of the barrel, it should be exposed to only a small and reasonably short pressure spike.
Even if it were to fail, ABS rips open clean without sending out shrapnel in every example I've ever seen, unlike PVC. I wouldn't worry about it, unless you're taking this gun over 125psi.

Amazing job for a first build. Could we get a close-up pic of the gas fill system? I'm curious how you rigged that up in such a small package.

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

Yes, this LAW will be making its debut at CDP for the Vietnam Patrol. I am on Team ODX, the field’s PB team and will be hunting our own tanks

@Pete Zaria

Your close ups sir:

The system remotes from a 3k/68i bottle. The regulator on the bottle outputs approx 800 psi.

Image

The remote connects to a CCM inline regulator on the cannon with an adjustable output from 80 psi to 500 psi

Image

Connected to the CCM regulator:
High pressure ball valve (used to control rate of fill to reduce sprinkler valve bladder cavitations)
Pressure gage
Safety pop off valve

*edit: spelling*
Thanx for all the kind words Gentz

Very nice job for a first gun. I like how you used a vortex as ammo, have you tried one of those vortexes that howl, that would sound really cool at such a high velocity. Again good job.
