hey guys, hey ive got a conbustion chanber cannon with a static sparker from a lighter.... but its not sparking. the lighter sparker is the nearist to a bbq lighter i can get hold of will anything elce do?????


(im from the uk.... albeit a very remot park of the uk and all i can find are bbq lighters that make flanes not just spark, will they do?)

sounds like a regular ignitor. how close are the screws

You don't want to use the kind of lighter that makes a flame as is, but you can discard the butane system (or use it to fuel a pill bottle gun) and use the built in piezo for ignition. It's a bit more powerful than that of a disposable lighter, and already has leads attached.

no it doesnt make a flame, ive taken the piezo out the lighter and attached the wire to one of the screws and the gap between that screw and the other is about 34mm.....

34mm, if my conversions in head are anywhere near close, then you have a about an 1 1/3 inch gap am I correct? My experience with the mini peizo that are inside lighters, if you got a spark arc for that distance, then you were lucky, but I think your screws are to far apart for a consistent spark, try placing you screws closer together, or just try bending them closer together. That should help.

fixed now..... scard the shit outta me today.... i thaught id test it, so i sprayd lynx in the chamber (its onli a coke bottle) and left the lid off and no barrell as of yet. clicked the sparker and it went off. was like a jet flame out the end of the bottle!. lol think ive learnt not to underestimate anything again)
