is there any way to make the spark bigger for an ignition from a long nosed lighter, like hook a battery up to it or something?

No, you can not hook it up to a battery. If you want a bigger spark get a peizo BBQ igniter or better yet, get a battery powered one. A battery operated one can jump almost 3/4 inch.

LGM is right. Battery ignitors are the next best thing to stun circuit.
Just about the same price. Can't get stun guns in my state.
