glow plug idea
i fly rc planes and i am sure a glow plug would easily work, however to obtain the best results ( this technique is used in rc jet turbies) take the glow fiament and pull it out of the plug so it is still connected, but is streched out.
"i wonder if i can do that a little lowe- oh apparently no"
"If a little is good.....more is better"
My last words: "Ooooo! what does that do!?!?"

Sorry to be a killjoy but...
This whole thing just sounds silly if you ask me. How is a glow-plug any more effective than anything else? Why be stubborn? Using a glowplug isn't going to produce any better results than anything else nor create any new advancements in the field of cannon building. A cheap $5 Peizo would actually perform better. To add insult to injury, you’re not going to be able to ignite instantly with a simple push of the button, AND you’re going to wind up having to change out the glowplug here and there. Did I mention their more expensive than electric grill igniters?
If you could explain why exactly you want to use it then I might be a bit more understanding. Sorry for the pessimistic outlook on the topic.

" Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will. "
