You can get 91% iso pretty much everywhere where I live. It is flammable, but it just doesn't burn that intensely. Or you can get it anhydrous in the form of Iso-Heet or under some other names. Usually all gas antifreeze/dryers and washer fluid antifreezes are Isopropyl alchohol, but make sure to check just in case.
Also, the person who mentioned denatured alchohol/paint thinner should note that that is ethanol (the kind you drink), but has impurites intentionally added so you cannot drink it. Sometimes it is just something that will make it really bitter, other times it is something that may make you very sick. DO NOT DRINK DENATURED ALCHOHOL!!!!!
I believe methanol is more powerful though. I saw a demo once where a little methanol was put in a Culligan jug and when a lit match was brought near the opening, it shot like a rocket. If you don't know where to get methanol, just go to Walmart or some automotive store and get Heet fuel antifreeze/dryer. It comes in a yellow bottle and should cost somewhere around $1 a bottle. This is anhydrous, so it is supposed to be free of all water.
Since you want to mess with alchohol as a fuel, I would suggest getting some methanol (Heet), isopropyl alchohol (Iso-Heet), and some ethanol (denatured alchohol) and see which works best.
rubbing alcohol?

Or, another thing to do with iso is pour some in a 2-liter soda bottle (empty, duh) and put the lid on and mix it around. pour it out in to a cup (for re-use) and light a match at the open end of the bottle. You get a nice little flame that floats around in the bottle if you do it right.
NOTE: Can be explosive. I once left some iso in there and a 5'' flame shot out and burned my finder a little.
