What the hell... I did everything and it didnt work is there a trick to this? My laser was almost exactly like the one in the pics. Does anyone personally have laser guidance that had the same problem?

Laser Guidance? I remember back when I was a noob someone said it that way. More like Laser sighting.

Edit-And I can't seem to find any pics.

I'm confused, did the laser not work after you modded it? or you couldn't get it to line up correctly?

It basically works like this:

The switch you set up to be constantly closed, (depressed). You can do this with tape, if you want.

You are going to be switching the current to the device itself. By adding a small cardboard disk between the metal cap and the ends of the batteries, you can block the current to the circuit. You are then simply re-routing that current through a switch and then to the cap.

Make sense?

ive got a partly different way, ill explain it to you.

i hot glue the switch down so it stays.

then take the batteries out and wrap a tight latyer of tape around them(so insulated from the wall) then hot glue a wire onto JUST the batteries. dont fill the cavity all the way up. then hot glue another wire to the inside wall of the laser, and hook the 2 wires up to a switch.

worked for me anyway sorry if its a bit complicated.

What, are you trying to attach a laser as to help you aim? Or have you attached the laser and you want to connect it to a switch or something?

I did everything right i think. When i had all the wires hooked up the last thing i needed to do was press the button for the on position (on the laser) and it just turned the laser on, the push button with wires that i soldered into the circut didnt work or turn the laser on.... How do I post pictures along with my post...i'll draw it into ms paint and post what i did.

If you got all the wires connected to the right points in your circuit (whatever it may look like) you can try to check or just redo the soldered connections.

Your circuit drawing is correct.

The gray metal washer and the blue wire must not make electrical contact with the body of the laser pointer.

Do you have a volt-ohm meter? Assemble your device and measure the voltage across the two electrical contacts of your external switch. With the external switch off (open) you should get whatever the battery voltage is. If it reads zero then you have a short somewhere, probably between the wire or the metal disk and the body of the laser pointer. Or perhaps between the wire and where is passes through the screw cap.

Man, I just ripped the diode out of the laser and haphazardly connected wires to it, and then to a pair of AA batteries and a switch. Works fine. It's not like the laser is of much use when shooting outside anyways.
