hey folks, i'm new to this forum & this recreation/hobby whatever catagory it's placed under, anyway, a friend & i were watching the special features of a movie & they messed around with a spud gun, & we thought,"that looks easy enough to build" so we did, we both have one & i'm hooked, here's my first one & i say first because i've got about 5 other designs i'm gonna try to build, this one i'm calling the "SPUDr", based off of the "SPNKr" rocket launcher from the Halo game series, i could have gone double barrel but like i said this was my first attempt at a spud gun, there are a few little asthetics i need to add (paint, graffics, ect) but for the most part it works pretty well, i'll have more pics & hopefully some vids up soon, lmk what you guys think
thanks

looks good for a first attempt, could use a bit of structural thingamajigs and a lick of paint to look more like its namesake but you're well on the right track

Good for a first gun
And also, its always a good idea to copy things from Halo, coz... wel you know... Halo is just awesome.
Make a second one (exact copy) and stick em together to make the dual rocket.. erhm.. potato launcher.

If you post it next time with a propane injection system, that will be pretty cool considering you're a fairly new member.

yeah i've been doin alot of research, got most of my inspiration & ideas from youtube, http://www.advancedspuds.com, http://klugeboy.net/, & of course on here, apparntly there's alot more to spud guns than ppl think, i for one had no idea it could get so intricate & complex & yet be so simple & inexpensive at the same time

It is pretty nice for a first cannon. I can't wait to see the upgrades. Oh, and I love the name.

Looks good for your first gun! Its also nice to hear that you went around and did some R@D instead of asking to be spoon fed.
Keep up the good work!

Ah luckely im not the only one to see that.
Nice vid, but dont smoke while fueling, seriously!

yeah, the smoking wasn't a bright idea on his part, i dont smoke so i dont have to worry about it, i'll make sure that doesn't happen next time, that design had a few flaws as i quickly found out, there's not much room for the exahaust gasses to escape so my next design is deffinitly going to have fans & removeable barrels, i had to change that design to a basic setup, (large screw on back cap) looks like a regular s-gun now but as soon as i get the parts i need i'll start construction of the good version of my SPUDr (double barrel), i've already got some of the parts including a couple of bernzomatic propane bottles, i may go with mapp gas later on though, all i really need is a few more pvc fittings & some propane fittings, that'll prob be next weekend, i should have it at least started within the week, i'll post pics & vids when i can, thanks for all the input guys

here's a quick pic of what i'm sadly reduced to using untill i can get my SPUDr II up & going but hey it works, i can get spuds about 200ft out, all i did to it was change the back & make new lowers, i'm going to use the originals on the new gun
