Hi guys!
im new here and i`ve seen alot of awesome spudguns here!
i just wanted to know what you thought about my spudgun
it is the first spudgun ive ever made, and im quite proud of it 8)
so what do you guyes think so far?
its the largest ever created in my town and is the only one with electrical ignition (wich im quite proud of. it gives about 4-5 huge sparks every second and allways fires). The ignition is made out of a electrical flyswatter modded from 3v to 9v
it fire potatoes, pvc flares and ice cubes at a unknown distance, but its god damned far
*update*
here is a couple more pics
The little Bunny at the bottom of the chamber is a tribute to my pet that left this world a couple years ago.
The FLYSWATTER-IGNITER! how-to!

Looks nice, like that flame. But what the heck it that mesh stuff?

its made out of stuff just laying around
the tape was just to get the black look
(the pvc was pink
)
the bottom of it is a 5cm fat wooden piece that i hammered inn, glued with araldite and tec7 and then 4 screws
Merged:
the mesh stuff was just some crap i found behind a huge storage close to where i live, and i thought it was damn awesome to just "wrap" the chamber with it

k nice cannon, but first off, use the edit button. 2nd off, pink PVC? is that pressure rated?
add a propane meter..
4th. maybe its just me, but it seems like your C:B ratio is bad. i think if you get more flames, your barrel is too short because the gas hasn't had enough time to fully expand, so there will be more flames. When i shoot mine, which has a near perfect C:B ratio, there is just a little amount of flame
anyone else's opinion welcome

well
as i said.. it`s my first spudgun ever. im a total newb when it comes to this actually, and it is made out of stuff i just found laying around (almost everything)
preassure rated? i have no idea, i only know it worked out damned fine for me
and i like the flames

k well with combustions, pressure rated doesn't matter as much, but it still does. i have 2 DWV fittings on my combustion, and it works fine. well i'd go to a bunch of research to familiarize yourself with the current database we have here...
welcome to spudfiles

Not bad for a first, not bad at all.
The pipe should be fine for a hairspray combustion, you don't have to worry too much about pressure rated pipe until you make a propane metered combustion or a pneumatic.

Hey MrC, check PM...
anyway, do you think i am right about the C:B ratio because of the large amount of flames?

For low powered combustions, you don't have to use pressure rated parts.
Someone made a cardboard cannon, you can even use DWV and ABS.
I love that blue flame

thx Crowley
maybe i`ll try to get the stuff needed for a propane metered combustion soon.
and thx Zen... i love the flame too
when it fires, the "BIG MAMA" letters glow too, wich makes a badass look in the middle of the night, out in the snow up here in the north of norway

yea i saw that Zen, just sayin, like for safety. don't worry i know that a cardboard ones have been made, im just saying, better safe than PVC shrapnel in your leg, severin your femoral artery and havin you bleed to death...

yeah
safety is sortof importand
would have been bad if the chamber exploded while firing
because when i aim and fire it`s held like a bazooka
looks badass and you really feel the delicious recoil that almost knocks you off your feet

Hairspray combustions= 20- 60 psi
ABS pipe doesent send shrapnel, it breaks in seams.
Most DWV has been "tested" by fellow spudders to 100- 160psi burst pressure. But never use it in a puenematic/high powered combustion.
The only thing Im worried about is cell core PVC pipe.

I'll just correct Zen// there, hairpsray combustions usually produce 40psi max.
A propane metered combustion tops out at 81psi in perfect conditions.
So usually around 60-70psi.
