Static Guard and Oust = Dont Work!?

So, after reading this forum for a while I noticed that most people either use propane, butane, or an aerosol. For aerosols, most people seem to use Oust or Static Guard. So I go to the store, pick them both up, and cant wait to get home and try them.
I get home, try them both, neither work. Just "click click click" everytime. I take the cap off, spark it, flames out just fine. I put NEW Right Guard (not even the good stuff) in there, shoots perfectly. I tried all different amounts of Oust and Static Guard. Any ideas why they wouldn't have worked?
I'm moving on to propane soon anyways. Is this the most reliable thing?

Did you check what the oust and static guard had in them? also i found when i made my getto combustion at the weeked it only needed a tiny amount of spray to work, you could also try mixing the spray in the chamber some more using a pump to blow some air in.

I'ts not that complicated you just put 2 much of the stuff in you need 2 put just a li'l bit of it and/or let some air in befor closing the cap don't worry it will work... you just need get the hang of it

I hear ya, it took me about 3 days of trial and error until I got a mix that worked.

cameronfield: When you opened the cap it allowed some air to get in and balancing the mixture. Need some practice to know how much fuel you need.

Of course it does. Butane and propane are fuels right? almost any liquid fuels can be used.

Wow this thread was completly useless, please search the wiki and the forum because this topic comes up about once a month.
And it is just a matter of trial and error getting your fuel mixture right, because each different aerosol product contains different ammounts of the proprietary ingredient (propane, butane, isobutane, etc.
As far as the BBQ ignitor with the propane or butane fuel, all I have to say is duh, please check the wiki.

I use oust 95% of the time, i had challenges getting it to light and had to change it to using a camera flash ignighter, and I had less than 5% failure rate. I have tried others with out much sucess, i have also installed a small 1.5" fan and it also made a huge difference.
