Hey guys I just bought some cans of silly string from the dollar store for some reason i dont know why it just seemed appealing. On the can it has the usual caution extremely flammable store under 120 crap, and this intrigued me. It gave off some nasty fumes too. Im thinking the fumes may work as combustion, and can be used innocently by younger secretive spudders. Just wonderin if anyone ever tried it or if anyone had a clue what would happen.

It's basically a cheap flamethorwer due to the silly string being in it.

so if i sprayed some silly string into my cannon would the spark light the fumes or would string have to physically be on the spark?

It might
but why silly string, it would cover your chamber in crap and it would be more expensive than alternantive options

well propane is two bucks a can and provides a lot more powerful shots and more of them per one can.

Depends on the size of the "can". My can cost me $30 and that was empty. then I had to pay $20 to have them fill it. But now i get it at a buck a pound, which is only 1/2 the price if you buy it in the canisters

I don't think silly string is a good option, if you're spraying it into a cannon it's going to get silly string all over the inside of it, and most of the silly string canisters that I've had didn't have any flammable gases in them.

Either way, an average sized combustion cannon can get over 8 000 shots on a single 14.1 ounce propane tank, which costs about $4 after taxes. So unless you can get 2 000 shots or more out of your Silly Strings can, it isn't worth it, and it will gum up your chamber even worse than hairspray.
