Hi, I thought I'd show some pictures of a potato cannon I built for my stepson's birthday. This is the first one I've built and in fact, it's the first one I've ever fired. And now I'm hooked! :D

Image

It's 4" pipe for the chamber that gets reduced to 1 1/2". Then it has another section of 4" over the 1 1/2" to make the "barrel".

A couple of bicycle wheels, some 4x4 wood to clamp around the barrel, a lantern flint for ignition, and some decorative elements that my wife added.

We tried some sweet potatoes at first which worked pretty good. And I like the orange color, real easy to see. We then took it out to my stepson's place and launched some small potatoes through it. It averaged around 200 yards plus on 4 short shots of AquaNet.

Now to build one for myself!

nicly done, im glad to see that some people keep to the "keep it simple" rule of spud gunnin. i dont care what people say, no matter what you do tou your cannon, its still a spud gun, there is no need to go all high tech...well done

Yeah I have the same problem as starman. Otherwise it sounds good. I just wonder why I can't see them and others can, hmmm.

Edit: Yes I also just realized that the thread was from last year. :?

Yep, your images are broken. Try re-uploading them.

Sounds good though, I'll wait for pictures to comment any more.
