This is my large Combustion Cannon
I started off with a simple two inch pipe 6 feet long with a end cap glued on one end and a sparker from a long nose lighter. As i know now that didn't work. When i got home from the trip i took it on i cut off the end cap and got ABS fittings and pipe at the local Home Depot. I cut the pipe to 18 inches long and glued the reduser on one end and the female adapter at the other end. i then glued a length of two inch pipe into the reducer and then a female adapter so i could change the barrel or gust take it off. I then installed a twist lantern igniter. That worked pretty well for a wile until the flint ran out. Then i went out and got a pezio Electric Grill sterter from osh for about $9. I installed it and the effectiveness ot the firing.
The next Month i took it on a boy scout trip we went to a beach that had huge dunes. i was using hairspray then and i learned the hard way that hair spray acts like glue. The clean out cap got glued into the threds. We learned that the wheel on one of the cars had a hole in the wheel that the hex on the cap fit in perfectly so we could loosen it. Our best shot went about 450 yards.( i measured it with google earth).
Last weekend i got the supplies to make a PVC propane Meter. The meter is very simple and i only had to buy $9 in parts to make it. It greatly inproves the speed of loading and firing. Tonight i bought fittings to transform the cannon to a under over configeration.

I've always thought that you can't glue abs and pvc together because they won't harden together like pvc-pvc will. I saw some site where someone used an abs barrel and pvc chamber (or the other way around I can't remember) and they though that it would work because they used glue that said it worked for abs or pvc. But when he shot it the barrel went flying off because the joint wasn't solid.

Anyways, back to the gun. You said that you have propane injection. How is that setup?

the meter pipe is a 4 inch long sch 80 1/2 inch pipe and the rest is just pvc valves and steel reducers it has a 1-300 psi guage that is connected to a tee withe the other side to the propane tank and then into the meter pipe.

Transition cement isn't pressure rated, and thus isn't terribly usefull for our purposes. I reccomend using threaded adapters.
