New hear, now I was just on 37 newspapers around the world front page for a homemade hail cannon. YouTube - Americannon for videos. I had a combustion chamber made from a propane rank that was modified for this cannon. I had to get the right mix, and about 2min filling it with 02 at 80 psi and acetylene at 10 . Lotta gas. , I still don’t knkw if this mix was right , it sounded perfect, but can anyone tell me that best setting to set my gauges too? It’s all remote fired with Solonoids openiing the tanks, I really can’t test it anymore because our town made a new noise ordinance for me that I can’t shoot this wonderful device .

If you're just flushing the chamber with fuel/oxygen (displacing all the air that was in the chamber beforehand) you could ignite the torch and adjust the flame beforehand to get the right "settings".

Not using a torch, just want to know what the best setting would be to set the regulators.this is how I “load” it

I tried but it takes too long. I need to find the perfect combustion with just opening the tanks and regulating the psi.

A regular torch regulator? The flow adjustments are in the torch so you wouldn't be able to get that close with just the pressure regulators. But then again, the flammability limit of acetylene is so wide it won't matter too much. The final stage on your acetylene one is pretty low so I would base your oxygen pressure off of that, just keep in mind the tank pressure (and probably the regulator's first stage pressure) is much higher for oxygen, so the flow out of your oxygen regulator will probably be higher for a given outlet pressure setting. I think the best thing to do would be to start at roughly equal outlet pressures (with the acetylene set at its highest) and adjust from there (or get a torch or a couple of flow regulators :P ).

Any more details on construction? With all this min/maxing your chamber pressure is going to go up. Stay safe.

booo!!!

I believe the ideal ratio is close to 1:1 for an oxy/acetylene mix.
