So I've been eying this abandoned pipe on the side of this road for quite some time. Hoping it was 10" for basketballs, I decided to go yank it and to my surprise, it was in fact, 12 inches in diameter.

So I started cutting a wooden plug when ShadowWalker was here earlier. (Very inpressive launcher he has, by the way.) I didn't finish it until later when Boomer and I came back from a Chili Cheese Dog and Slushee run.

Having the one end belled made tracing the plug board easy since all I had to do was use a marker around the non-belled end. The dremelling was the shitty part. It was just incredibly hard to handle for some reason.

For the <a href="http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=main/7/1 ... 0">Plug</a> I cut two plates from 3/4" solid wood and stacked them inside the coupler end with Liquid Nail as a sealer on the inside of the disks against the chamber. Then I used six wood screws, not into, but next to the plug. This way they keep the plug from sliding back without weakening the wood by being inside the board and cracking it apart like the original Kraken by SMOMW. [:p]

I have it set with somewhere between .7 and .8:1 C:B. I forget which. It uses my universal ignition box and takes 11 shots of 110 psi from my universal meter pipe. I will be giving it its own meter soon though because doing 22 ball valve turns gets annoying fast.

To vent this - for today since I ran out of male quick-disconnects with 1/4" male threads - I stuck a male quick disconnect with female threads in an air hose from the compressor and dropped it down into the chamber. It vents it out in the ammount of time it takes to retrieve the bucket and refill it.

I really find my <a href="http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=main/7/1 ... 10">mixing system</a> to be a joke, though it works fine. It is a 4" fan duct taped to a ring of sch40 4" pipe with the battery taped along with it. Simply drop it in and you're all set.

So I discovered that if you cut the top part off a 5 gallon bucket, it fits nicely in the chamber and works well as a sabot for almost anything like water, dirt, stuffed animals, garbage, siblings, midgets, you name it, it shoots it.

And since Boomer asked me so nicedly and so repetatively and forcefully, I give him some credit for this. He did not buy anything or design anything, but I give him full credit for being a decent <a href="http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ ... >Flunky</a>.

Wow...Thats quite a cannon you have there,how far does it launch a sabot full of rocks/dirt etc?How do you fire it because trying to hold that would blow you on your a$$..Nice cannon so how big will the propane meter be? 2"pipe..lol...Nice cannon

It's messy from the build and people threw stuff from the pool too.

Ben and RNA, it would need 30" of 1" pipe at 100 psi for a meter.

I usually only shoot it straight up because it would be hard to keep things in the sabot at other angles and because recoil doesn't affect anything and nothing is in danger of a plug blowout.

As for weight, heavy. The scale reads about 85 pounds. That sounds right.

will you give away the broken old cannon(blue flame) if so can i have it

ahh well okay. how loud is the cannon. u can imagine it would be insainly loud. also is the plug made of ply wood or solud wood

thats big bigger than the barrel used in the "mythbusters"show when they shot frozen chiken at airplane windows to test somesort of myth... w/e but that thing shot CHIKENS faster than my canon shoots taters urs is biger but ur chamber is basicaly the same as ur barrel so thats less power right but that must be fun to shoot wow dude

The plug is made from solid wood.

The one on Mythbusters was probably 10" and was used for testing the frozen vs thawed chicken shot at glass myth.

The C:B ratio is calculated to be .75:1 to give the best shot possible. 45" is barrel, 34(ish)" is chamber.
