Using NO2 in a combustion?

I'm just curious… Could NO2 be effectively used to increase the power produced by combustion in a spudgun? Can whip cream cartridges of NO2 be used?
Specifically, I'm wondering about building a small gun (say, 2"dia chamber and .75-1"dia barrel) with a propane meter (union for burst discs optional) all out of sch80. I'm wondering if you might be able to rig up a system to use one meter for both gasses.
Would deflagration (sp?) be a potential risk?
Would it be worth the potential power gain?
Thanks.
Peace,
Pete Zaria.

dont know but i do no that some people hav allreaddy used nos in there cannons. but if your looking for a great fuel use oxy acetalene
"I'm sorry, Mr.Bush cant come to the phone right now, He's playing cleudo with Mr. Cheney And he has him in the Cupboard with a broom stick" -White house receptionist.
i wouldnt reccomend it unless it is used in abs or steel, it creates one hell of a pressure
in the upcoming presidential election, there will be several candidates who will be running, one of whom is Hillary Clinton. Now WAIT A SECOND!!! I though there was some sort of rule that prevented someone from serving more than two terms in office. Vote Against Hillary: Presidential Elections 08
I wouldn't recommend it in ABS at all. While ABS does only fracture, why would you spend money on something that was going to break after 1, possibly 2 firings?
Anyway, oxy-acetylene can self detonate inside of the chamber, so its very dangerous because of that

Deflagration is safe because the fuel combusts at a steady right. Detonation is the term you're looking for. It's possible to do, just not safe.
And a word of advice to the wise, killagorilla, not only when you make a dumbass suggestion such as "but if your looking for a great fuel use oxy acetalene", not only does it make you look stupid because it's dangerous, you can't even spell the terms properly, giving the rest of us doubts as to how smart you really are.

Could anyone give me any information about using nitrous oxide in a combustion gun? Such as, the proper nitrous/propane/air mixture, estimates on pressure produced, etc...?
Thanks.

So, theoretically, if I used the same meter pipe for propane and NO2, and used one "shot" of each in a small combustion with a weak burst disk (just enough to keep the gas in until combustion), would it increase power very much? Is detonation (or deflagration or whatever the term is when the flame front > mach 1) a big risk?
Thanks.

Well if your metre pipe is at say 4%of your chamber then if u add say 4%oxidiser from your metreing system there would be a great increase of performance as usual air contains 25%oxygen
(i think) and if 4% of oxygen/NO2 was added to make it 29%oxidiser there would be a power increase of say 5-10% of the pressure created so it could jump from say a optimal pressure of 102psi it would be a optimal pressure of 112 psi from a 4% oxygen added which isnt really a whole large power increase.

You could add NO2 through a schrader valve using these.

Uhhhh... may I ask just how you figured that out?rna_duelers wrote:Well if your metre pipe is at say 4%of your chamber then if u add say 4%oxidiser from your metreing system there would be a great increase of performance as usual air contains 25%oxygen

Ya, I'm thinking wtf is NO2....
Don't do this, it's really just stupid, Propane works good enough, if you want anything better use stupid stuff like this in a metal gun, or make a hybrid...
hey guys do you like my signature?
