Nope and... Nope...
You need at least +/- 5,000 volts to create an open-air spark.

You could wire it to some steel wool in the chamber?

Ya... but why?

Exactly, Just spend 2 bucks on a kitchen peizo igniter.

the electricity going thru the steel wool oxidises it (s.p.) and it catches on fire.
yea thats probably wht i'm gonna do

No one asked how steel wool would work...
It's a waste of time and would be more expensive over time. Just get a long-nose lighter and steal it's piezo sparker.

The point I was trying to make is that there is no good reason to use steel wool.

Save the steel wool for electronically igniting... ummm... other things.

and next time dont post this in the "how-to" thread as its a question and not a diagram/instructions on how to build something that works.

Wow, you people arn"t that open to new ideas. You dont have to have a piezio or lantern lighter to get your gun to work. You have to start to think outside of the box. it might not be the best ignition but dont just say "NO YOU HAVE TO USE A BBQ SPARKER!!".

Using steel wool to ignite something isn't a new idea! Have you ever seen a flash pot?
I never said that he had to use a BBQ igniter... I hate BBQ igniters!
I'm open to new ideas, just not bad new ideas.

HAHAHA! That last sentence is funny. I also hate them because some will work 1000000000 times while some will last only 10.
