Hey, ive just made a minigun style handle out of PVC and I don't know how to stick it on

What would be the best way to fasten it to the gun?

hose clamps,velcro,those thingys that you pull tight and you cant undo them,glue,sellotape,electricians tape

since there both pvc, would you reccomend pvc glue?

i tried that once it should work but it didnt for me as the tee was a 50mm that i cut in half and the barrel was 60 and the fitting just popped off.

zip ties, not to go too far off subject or anything but i figured you might like to know.

make in horizontal hole and a hose clamp is the best way because u can take it off move it and tighten it so it dosent move

Damn, and there was me thinking that it was a chinese finger trap.

Epoxy might do the trick.

i wasn't trying to clarify it for others such as yourself, i know everyone knows what it is by how he described it. i was just telling him so next time he needs to refer to them he has an easier time.

I've used PVC glue ta attatch things before. Works pretty well - not "hit it on things" well, but it's typicaly on there pretty good.

Epoxy is probably your best bet, as you can get more joint area.

What I did once was:

Cut a strip of 1-1/2" PVC 1/2" wide and 6" long.

Sand the inside of the strip and the top of a 1-1/4" tee.

Epoxy the strip onto the tee. Let it cure for the full 24 hours.

Drill and tap to #6-32 threads ONLY through the strip, not into the tee.

Mount scope rail with #6-32 screws, (in your case, you would mount the handle).

Instead of using PVC glue use High temp hot glue. It will last longer and give you a better seal plus if you ever need to do maitenance on it it is easy to take off by hand.

What I did when I made one of those was to take a piece of aluminum flat-bar stock (1 1/2"w x 3/16" thick) and cut it to the appropriate length (to fit my hefty 42"x 3" double-sleeved combustion) and then scribed onto one side the outline of the base.After that I paid attention to the thick and thin areas of the handle and chose the appropriate places to set counter-sink spots to drill holes for small screws.I used 1" and 3/4" wood screws to the tune of 6 screws total.
Given the size of my chamber, I found it necessary to put the stock on the anvil of my vise and slightly round the areas that would be clamped against the chamber with screw type hose clamps. Doing this provided the necessary strength to the handle to effectively wield the cannon using both the rear and front handles together.

Jubilee clips/hose clips with a little bit of inner tube rubber on the inside can clamp pretty securely onto any piping and fittings.

There are 2 ways to attach pics. If you have already uploaded them onto photobucket or a similar photo hosting site you just go [img]image%20url[/img]

If you want to upload it onto spudfiles you have to click 'browse' down the bottom of the 'add reply' page (not quick reply) then click upload attachment. The disadvantage of this is that the pic must be smaller than 350 kb.

The easiest way to attatch a handle is to solvent weld the handle into a "T" fitting, cut the top half of the "T" off, and then secure it with pipe straps to wherever.

The straps are a bit unsightly, but you don't need any messy glue (and straps can easily be painted).
