Hi ,
I found this nice page before a day.
My name isn´t Billy Bob but I have an cannon named that.
I already post it in the Album.

But here some better quality pictures.

Nice cannon.
Is it a combustion?
If so what do you use for ignition?
Is the ball valve for venting and filling?

I think i can see a little peizo ignitor on the handle in the corner above the ball valve.
Whats with all the parcel tape? could you not just cut the gaurd off the propane tank if you dont like it?

Is that barrel copper? If so that is a HUGE waste of money.

Oh, I don't mean to be rude but this cannon n could take a lot of improvement.
Get a decent ignition source for that size of a cannon.

Hi,
the barrel isn´t copper its steel. It was a camping gaz barrel. It was !
Yes the parcel tape is improvement but I am looking forward to make something rational. At the moment the parcel tape holds the big cover ... thats because I have to brace the gun on my belly during shooting and the ignitor ( yes it´s a simple piezo) cable would be snap.
But the Piezo works great. It´s easy done and I have a ignitor Quota of 99%.
Yes the ball valve is for filling. I use a little propan burner.
The gas/air mixture displaces the Exhaust fumes through the ?course?
20 sek are enough.

Spudstuff, he says "made of steel only" so its not a copper barrel.

Do you realise that Gas bottles aren't designed to hold any pressure - i think you should be ok for a combustion but a pneumatic is a defeniate no no!!!! - they only have when filled with gas like 70-80psi!!!!

It is a combustion
The test pressure does not stand unfortunately on the bottle.
But it must be the same like an powder fire extingusher or some higher because the material are a little thicker. Ok the diameter is a little higher. The most fire extingusher at us have an testing pressure about 360 psi.(Exeption co2 bottles) The destroy pressure are much higher.
We have locked the bottle completely an the test was good.
It whistles 2 sek out of all spaces and than it was past.
The pressure curve shows that the maximum power is only a very short time available.
The test is not an Guarantee but it calms. I only use Propan/Butan / air mixed and No O2/ Acethylen. I think the maximum pressure during shotting isn´t higher than 360 psi.

There is a guy on spudtech that made a pnuematic out of a propane bottle, crashtestdummy hes called, his C:B ratio was 100:1 lol, But its a great gun.
I think propane bottle look cool on guns anyway and I would trust steel more than PVC (iv trusted pvc enough and it has failed.)

Do you mean me ?
The gun weight tonns
But its no problem to hold and fire but the reload is strenuous.
I have construct me an fixture so I can shoot and reload easilyer.
The fixture is more an improvement, the vertikal action radius is a disaster.
....for shoot on silvester it should be OK.

Yes i was pointing out the fact i would not use one on a pneumatic - for others!!!
also i think the pressure peak is more likely to be around the 90psi mark
i used to sell Calor gas (Uk company) and their bottles exactly like yours were only rated upto 80psi as all propane and butane are low pressure - so therefore don't need the high pressure!!!
there are not like fire extinguishers or commpressed gasses cylinders in anyway - they are made totally different
i am not trying to say you should not use one for a combustion mind - i think they are fine for this, it was a warning for those who think the maybe able to hold high pressure

No problem its ok. Better some warnings too much as ... Booom
Yes thats right Propan/Butan are have an low pressure but I am shure that the testing pressure is about 360 psi. The destroy pressure are much higer I think. You can laugh if you want but I think one peak of 1000 psi will not destroy the bottle.
I had an little steel cannon. The bottle was the 1:2 volume like the " Billy Bob cannon". I could press the steel with my fingers a "little" bit. At that time I was young and stupid. I would "never" build a cannen like that again but that shows how stable steel can be.
I also coating the bottle interior becaus of oxidation.
I know a guy build a much bigger combustion gun.
He´s shure that it is safe. I am not because the diamter is so high that only god know what the pressure is doing during the explosion with the bottle ....
but thats one more reason that I think the "Billy Bob cannon" cannon is safe.
