I started reading the posts on your site and with the help of, PCGUY, DR, PIMPMANN22, SGORT, ect........I began building my own combustion. My two sons and I are now into the hobby. Please tell me what you think of my first attempt........those golf balls are almost totally out of sight...this cannon really sends them flying.

Dual Chambers 40" x 4", fans and dual spark in each. The ignition is with a stun gun housed in SGORTS ignition box. The barrel is sleeved SDR21 and if 12'.

Cool, I didn't think that dual chambers worked that well but if the golfballs are going out of sight I guess I was wrong. Very clean construction, and a damn nice gun overall.

Is there a possibility of better pictures? I can barely tell whats going on besides a terribly sweet gun. Ill wait for better pictures to formulate my reply, and if not available Ill make a reply.

Looks great! You didn't have any troubles with one chamber firing and the other one not, huh? I could imagine a badly mixed shot of propane clinging to one side. 8)

But fans eliminate all that. Ignition should be no sweat. Any idea <I>how</I> far those golfballs go??? Perhaps you can guestimate and measure with Google Earth?

Ya, a pic fro above would be more helpful. I think I've got the basic setup figured out, but I'm not positive.
Quick pointers: If you rotate the breech tee by 180 degrees you end up with a more compact gun. Of course, you'd have to lose the tees for the stand or use them some other way. With minor modifications, you could probably make a faster breech loading system, too. More compact is always better. You should also make those elbows as short as possible. The more gas has to travel, the cooler it gets, yielding less pressure.

The issue of the dual chambers is indeed interesting. If the ignitions are slightly out of synch (and they most likely are), you'd get less accelleration twards the breech, but it would be sustained further down the barrel. Which means guns with longer barrels would perform better.
Of course, we don't use our guns under precisely controlled environments, so results may vary...

for a first cannon, that thing is a monster! that looks like it could take down a fighter jet!

I must say that is the biggest combustion I've ever seen. I like how you took the challenge of getting dual chambers and actually accomplished it. You should try using MAPP in it and compare it to using propane. It should go quite a bit farther, especially with that long barrel.

What a friggen BEAST!!! I wish i had the patience to build something that nice and detailed.

Thanks for all the comments. I had it out this weekend and with a laser Ranger finder found out the distance of some of the golf balls..........
