Hey all,
Well mom won't let me use hairspray..lp stuff won't be comin for a while now..So I need to find a fuel..
I did a quick search..But never really found if WD-40 would actually work..FOund it mentioned a few times..But no one ever really said if it would work...So would it??
or would triflow work??(A slightly different version of WD-40)
Thanks a bunch...

Umm, from my experience WD doesnt work worth crud, course i was sorta flooding my tiny hand held pistol. But...being that it is made from petroleum distillates its not gonna work to well, but out of all PD sprays started fluid works relatively well, but is dirty and has rather noxious fumes. So, in short, if you can avoid Petroleum based fuels, DO SO. Although right guard no longer works, try other things similar. Just look on the back of cans for "ane" words. Is there a reason you cant use hairspray (i wouldnt anyways), just look for things with minimal non-flammable substances. i.e water, etc.

Because I just ordered the propane tank fitting from sgort...and my mom and dad say "You have to learn patience its a virtue."
SOoooooooooooooooooooooooooo annoying..I haven't even shot it ONCE yet because of that..and my spark gap didn't work but it does now..

sorry to hear your predicament, i got into sud guns with my dad and uncles. LOL, but my dad still doesnt wanna do propane. Anyways, plead with them to allow you to get something not made from petrol. Say its worse for the environment than other things. Plus WD,starter fluid, etc can have dangerous burn times as well as hang fires and the like. Other fuels are safer. Basically tell tem that. Spud

Although I'm not positive, hairspray is probably safer than propane just because there is a little less power (Say this part carefully because you don't want your parents think propane isn't safe). Hairspray is probably also safer than other stuff like WD-40 when it comes to fumes. Patience is not a virtue when you have no reason to wait any longer.
Hope that helps.

haha well my dad wasn't okay with propane but I explained how a meter makes it safer..So now he's okay with it.
I don't have any axe..And they won't care about any of that...trust me..Ah well..I'm debating about just leaving hte house for 10 minutes to ride my bike to the store...But then they'd get really pissed at me..I'll try to get them to let me..

Has anyone used silicone spray? The lubricant stuff? I know it makes shiny fireballs when you spray it over a match...

Febreeze works........ i ofund that out becasue i burned my eyebrows off with it when i tried fueling my combustion with it, it owuldnt work, i looked in the chamber (BAD IDEA ENSUES) clicked the igniter and WOOSH fireball............

Hair spray is way more dangerous than propane. You have relativly long lasting chamber fires (which create lots of heat in the chamber and could burn you), flash backs, toxic fumes, toxic build up, inconsistancy, unpredictable, and not to mention fire coming out the muzzle and torching stuff.

Use Static Guard.
i have moved on to propane, but back in the aerosol days it was the only way to go. and i still use it for one of my combustion cannons. the great thing about static guard is that its 70% alcohol, 12% propane, and 15% butane. that accounts for 97% of the contents. its basically a bunch of fuels in an aerosol can with small amounts of other stuff added to give it a commercial purpose. be careful not to add too much tho, its very powerful. my full size combustion needs only a 1/2 second spray.
