I saw these brass adapters once that screw onto a propane tank (soldering torch kind) and have male NPT on the opposite end.

Does anyone know where to get one?
It could make for better portable air supply in my pneumatics. Screw on a tire chuck and you have a $3 air supply.

Blowtorch propane tanks and camping ones have the same nozzle. I haven't seen those around, but if you unscrew the torch nozzle thing, there's threads. I had some random compression fitting which actually screws into those threads, and that's how my propane meter works. I think it might have been 3/16" or something.

You can buy those adapters online, in many different places. They are generally pretty expensive, for not that many people use them. A lot of the spudgunning stores sell them as well. I have one too. Not only are they useful for fueling pneumatics, they are great for building propane meters as well.

Now thinkin about it, that's a bad idea. Propane runs at what, 900psi?

A tire chuck couldn't handle that.

i think you confused co2 with propane, propane is around 125psi. propane liquefies around 125psi thats why they use it in gas airsoft guns, its not to high pressure and it lasts a while because its liquid when pressurized.

Propane only runs at like 120 - 150 psi I've got a propane tank for my pneumatics and it works perfectly. I'm gonna post a thread on my setup in the not to distant future. There is a vid of me filling one of my guns with it here.

Well if you buy one of those really cheap ass torch heads, the tube part will screw off (its lock-tited on, so use some heat and muscle to get it off). When you get it off, it will be 1/4" compression fitting threads on one end, and the propane on the other. From their you can buy a comp to NPT adapter and your all set.
