Well im back from vacation, got bored so i wanted to shoot some patato's with my older cannon.
But it diddnt work
no sparks..
I diddnt want to figure out whats wrong. so i got to the local hardware shop to buy parts for a bigger on.
Its not a beautiful one, but it shoots patato's
Sorry for the blurry picture but you get the idea how long it is.
Little MSI NorthBridge cooler( to small need biger one ) placed on two screws.
And wired the the screws for the power.
Tested it today and it fires nice
but the older one works again.. dont know how.. but now i have 3 working ones
the whole family ! Dad mom and a child

Barrel is indeed very long, but a shorter one from my older one isnt more powerfull
Had a great vacation

Thats good to hear. So when is it pneumatic time?

lol ! i was just thinking about it to build a pneumatic one.
you could have been my brother.. not only the same thoughts but like jimi hendrix as well
simple one with bibycle pump. instead of 19mm barrel i use on my 2 bigger combustions, use 16mm barrel (that i use on the smallest )
why 16mm ? those little yellow hearing protection things fits perfect in 16mm barrel.

Hahaha, we are long-lost brothers!
I really like the sound of that pneumatic, what valve were you thinking of?

just thinking of a simpel ball valve first.

Hmmm, yeah, they nice to start off with, but not the greatest in performance. I think you have the skill to build a piston/diaphram valve gun that works really well. Look under "Pneumatic cannon discussion" and in the sticky theres a thread "Piston valves explained visualy" by Clide. Look at that to understand piston valves.

Haha, you'd be suprised! Some people dont have the logic, common sense, skills or any other ounce of mechanical knowledge in them to build one!

AAah nice family of improvised starch produce accelerators
Is the ratio ok for the one you just built?

Yeah its fine
as i said, when i try a shorter one.. it decreased performance.
this long barrel was even longer ! but i cut a piece off, and this size is just perfect

Because of the bigger combustion chamber this time, i bought a other barrel.
This one is about 80cm long and has an inside diameter of 26mm. so that 10mm more then his first barrel.
when i got the barrel ready, i did a test shot to an big plastic bucket.
WOW what a force !!
much more then the smaller 16mm barrel !
I dont know how far the patato will go with this bigger barrel, but the damage is very big ! I shot it once.. it scares me the crap out of me
The two barrels
The damage shots of both barrels
edit...
and now... my barrel is rifled to
