Just got a 20 foot barrel for this thing! I should be having some supersonic fun pretty soon.
The cement was cured, so I went out and shot it. I forgot to mention that last night I too out the "spark plug" and tinkered around with it until the spark gap was less than 1/16." It can now ignite 6x mixtures, and I'll try 7x in a little while. The first shot I did with the new 20 footer was a 6x shot (the first 6x mix). It managed to put a battery through a piece of 1" plywood and a 2 x 4 stacked against each other, then went another 30 feet and went through my fence, andother 1" of wood. The battery was not found (obviously, because you can't see the projectile, even with only a 3x mixture).
The second shot, the only other one in those 5 minutes, was also at a 6x mixture. This time, it was a ball bearing, to see if I could tell if it was supersonic or not. I'm pretty sure it was, because I was using 3 layers of soda can as a burst disc. I'm also pretty sure DDT occured. I saw the board 40 feet in front of the barrel get kicked up, then heard a CRACK that sounded like shooting a 9mm blank next to your ear a split second later.

the 2" steel of the chamber resisted a DDT? i at least got a BBQ igniter, and i'm planing of buying a 1/2" union and i'd like to know if 2" steel is good or if i should stay with one inch...? please help me here! you seem to be fairly nautorious here.

I really don't think there is any way to tell for certain. I'm just assuming noname guessed about that part.
After reading some pdfs found randomly on the interblag, I'm pretty sure it's next to impossible to create a DDT in such a small vessel; there's just not enough run-up.
With very high pressures and a high-energy igniter you could, but based on what I've read propane is a bad fuel use if you want to create a DDT.
2" steel has been tested up to 11x, remember? (Though 11x was only done twice, which is far less than I would have wanted, had time allowed)
There was no sign of any structural damage or wear, and I'm fairly sure it would have stayed that way even if I had done 50 tests that day.
Now that I think about it, I really should have bought a 2" union and tried setting some records when I had that hybrid together. Oh well...

When you post velocities, please post them in Feet per second (fps) it makes it easier to compare to other guns...
I got this thing set up and shooting again; I'd forgotten how insane it is. I also figured out yesterday that my mom's camera (which I've been using for years) actually does take videos.
I should be able to get some for you guys. Anything in particular you'd like to see blasted to bits?
