I just have a few general questions about hybrids.
How common are handheld hybrids and if hand held are they usually much smaller than a typical combustion or pneumatic? I don't see many videos of people shooting hybrids like I do other spudguns, and if they do shoot them, they are usually mounted to a platform or remotely fired. Is this simply because of the recoil and added danger?
And lastly (for now at least) what is considered typical or common for hybrid power? Is it like 3x or 5x? Or is something like 10x more common. Hopefully these questions aren't totally lame. I am just trying to get a feel for them compared to regular spud guns.
I am making a handheld hybrid, like an advanced combustion and for some reason I get the impression that this is unique somehow.

Because hybrids need to withstand much higher pressures then that of an average combustion or pneumatic. You will see that high pressured pneumatics are also small.How common are handheld hybrids and if hand held are they usually much smaller than a typical combustion or pneumatic
It's difficult and very expensive to use large diameter pipe and fittings that are rated so high. Also portability and practicability come in to play.
Not many people actually build hybrids, hence the lack of videos. The reason most are mounted to a platform is because hybrids take so long to change the burst disk, load, fuel, then fire, it's pointless having them handheld and there are so many components that need to be secure on a hybrid, mounting them to a platform is just easier.I don't see many videos of people shooting hybrids like I do other spudguns, and if they do shoot them, they are usually mounted to a platform or remotely fired. Though SpudBlaster15 and Fnord_ make some nice handhelds that don't require platforms.
Only this year was a 10x mix reached (SpudFarm), soon outdone by a 20x mix (DYI) then a 200x mix by Larda, so things are changing pretty quick in the hybrid world.
