well if you make it out of sch 80 PVC, then you are safe up to a 4x mix i believe. In hybrids, chamber fans are not needed because the air you already pump air into the chamber mixes the gases.
And you should be specific about steel or pvc and what schedule your are using because it does matter.sthorne wrote:must we really be that picky D_Hall? I think everyone else knows what Jared Haehnel means when he compares "sch 80" to "steel pipe".

As one who has some sch XX pipe at home (way beyond sch 80... and yes, I paid for it myself)? Yes, I think we should be. Sch 80 by itself means damned near nothing.sthorne wrote:must we really be that picky D_Hall? I think everyone else knows what Jared Haehnel means when he compares "sch 80" to "steel pipe".
To answer the main question, most hybrids are built out of smaller pipe for convenience. I have three different sizes (only posted one). FEAR uses 6" sch 40 steel pipe, another uses 2" sch 40 pipe, and the last one uses 1.5" steel pipe and there all fine. Pretty much as long as the pipe can take the pressures you're good, so using 3" steel pipe will be fine.
