I saw this frame;

The muzzle flash looks pretty blue, I assume this means that the mixture is right?
With my previous hybrid I fueled in exactly the same way. It had a chamber that was twice as small, but I never had a misfire.
I got succesfull ignition on a 12x mix, but that also was the end of the gun :roll:

If it had the same valve, nevermind then, carry on ;)

Moar holes :)

I'm pretty satisfied with the power this thing has. According to HGDT it should produce about 430 joules at 10x mix, when I up the mix to 12x without changing the burst disk, it should go up to 480 joules.

Sheet metal perforation FTW!

Mild steel I presume, what thickness?

Also, you need some proper projectiles...

yes, 1 mm thick. Goes trough without any problems, as long as the projectiles stay together :roll:

For sure!
Do you have anything in mind?
now i'm just shooting pieces of steel I find in my garage, and some bullets I made for my copper gun.
They tend to disintegrate at impact :D

*cough* http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/6mm-apf ... 23554.html *cough*

You could also quickly lathe up some simple cup sabots for 3/8" ball bearings...

Would these qualify as proper projectiles?

I found them in my garage. Ø12 mm solid steel :)
They have a weight of 42 grams.
HGDT says I will get a velocity of 150 m/s (490 fps) at a 10x mix.
about 500 joules :)
With a 12x mix and a better burst disk it will put out 600 joules.
should be enough to make some holes :D

hehe, go for it!

Beware the recoil though, make sure there's some padding between the chamber and the wall!

I place the gun in a vice connected to a heavy steel pipe.
Hopefully the recoil isn't enough to launch that into the wall :roll:

I'll shoot them this afternoon, I have to fix my bike first :?

..Double posting and being an attention whore...

Today I got a 16 mm barrel for my hybrid. According to HGDT this will give an increase of 140 joules, without extra mix numbers or stronger burst disks. well worth it :)

I also had some time for machining projectiles, this is what I came up with;
Image
Fullbore steel slugs with a hollowed out back.

I think this will give quite nice results :)
Also machined a PVC rod so I can cut pusher plates out of it, works a lot better than toilet paper :roll:

Oh very nice, these are going to go deep!

Making them say 10mm diameter and using sabots will make them go deeper ;)
