Dude, you are way underestimating the power of this gun. If you look down the barrel when it was loaded, and it fired, It would make your whole head literally dissapear.
I think he was joking :D

What a cute little turret cannon :)

It's a nice low tripod and recoil system, no flailing of the barrel into the sky in any of the clips.

Are you using that large metal skip as a backstop?

Excellent workmanship on the cannon itself by the way, very slick. I on the other hand have to pay someone else to make something that nice for me

Well, the information is all there to work it out...
The hybrid is probably has least 5 times the muzzle energy of the ETG, although the ETG is possibly more powerful for it's size (don't hold me to that though, I'm just guessing).
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

Dear Larda,

You suck.

We're taking your machine shop.

Sincerely,

On a more serious note, this is something for everyone to ask themselves:
If technology continues to advance at this rate, how much longer will our hobby still be legal? (or at least, how long will it be before it gets cracked down on?)

Good point...I will be so pissed if they ban spud cannons like they did with marijuana. Both of them are harmless, yet there are people out there who always find something wrong with good things. Spudfiles is a VERY educated (haha I think I spelled that right) place. Marijuana is not harmful at all. But there are losers out there that will find the tiniest mistake, and make it seem like its the end of the world. God I will be soo pissed (I'm sure everybody who enjoys this hobby will be) if this gets banned. All we can do is continue to build our things and just hope for the best.

It's been banned here and in most places since before you were born. It really wouldn't be the end of the world if it was banned in one more place. Some of the best work in the hobby comes from countries where it hasn't been even remotely legal in living memory. Legally, I have owned more than ten unlicensed firearms since May of 2007 (although never more than 2 at the same time).

I'm actually surprised that spudding still isn't illegal in the States - it would be a great non-issue for someone to pick up to distract the populace from the real problems (as seems to be the standard). I'm sure someone will pick up on it eventually, as it only just slips through the cracks of the ever-tightening net now.

Ditto as above (DYI), pneumatics and combustions are banned here in NZ though I haven't felt very restricted at all.

Oh and:

Try and keep away from talking about drugs on the forum, i'm well aware many members do smoke pot but I think it would be in the best interests of the community if we distance ourseleves from looking like a bunch of pot smoking, spudgunning teenagers.

Now that I look back at my post. Spud cannons can be deadly giving it is in the possesion of the wrong hands.

The barrel is 20mm and the projectile used against was made of 16mm hardened steel.
Hopefully i will be able to do some more shoots at high mixes next weekend when i get my scuba tank refilled, right now its almost down to 170bar.
Here is a short video of the Recoil System.

Oh only 170 bar huhhh... Amazing how fast you can roll through a scuba tank of air with this thing.

On the recoil, that's what I thought, looks like small pneumatic hood lifters. I have had those up my sleeve for some time as well... If others have used them before I haven't seen it.

Would it be worth it to invest in a rifled barrel?

Since you're getting performance similar to that of high powered weapons I don't see why it would be much different.

Wonder what would happen if you got a rifle barrel and chucked it on with a bullet in the breech... :P

I sat at my computer in awe for several minutes after watching the videos. This thing is insane. I don't know what else to say other than excellent job. Your work is going to be remembered here for a long time to come.
