I finished the combustion chamber of my new hybrid;

25 mm ID, 2.5 mm wall thickness. the chamber has a length of 20 cm, so I have plenty of volume :)
I wonder how well the supressor is going to work..
This will be used at a 12x mix.

This feels quite strong when compared to my previous hybrid, I hope it will prove to be strong enough.
It will be shoulder fired after extensive testing, I'll probably keep the mixes low when doing so.

The epoxy has to cure now, so I can test it tomorrow. Vids will be uploaded :)

Is there any reason you went with the PVC plug over something a little more safe? I'm sure the plug will be fine but, personally, I would want something made of metal to ease my mind. If you couldn't get something machined, you could always weld some threads on to it.

Apart from that, looking good. I shall eagerly await for a video of it in action :)

Electrical insulation :)

I use the valve as the spark plug.
The pvc has a thickness of 25 mm, so it should be totally save :)
Don't forget that the abs barrel you used held up fine

Finally, metal threads!

:D

Looking very good, this will be quite a mini power house!

MrC, nowt wrong with synthetic plugs as long as they're thick enough and properly glued.

We need to shoot a video worth uploading.

Some messing around :D

first shot 3x mix, second shot 4x, third 5x.
I use masking tape as a burst disk.

Now I just have to put one the barrel :)
it will be 12mm bore, I couldn't find anything larger that would fit in the connector :?

I epoxied on the barrel, but the damned thing doesn't work anymore :?

Mix is right (worked this morning), spark gap is right, ignition system is okay too..

How long do you wait between the fill and the shot? I have an extremly small leak on mine that I haven't fixed yet and before I discovered it, I filled it, set up my target+camera (maybe took 2 minutes) and It didn't fire. Bugged the crap out of me for 3 more fills until I realized the problem. I highly suggest checking for leaks everywhere.

I agree with the leak hyphothesis, happens to me all the time  Have you tried filling it and putting it under water?

Also, could it be that the electrode has been dislodged?
