Provided By - Wobbled

This is my first hybrid: 33in x 4in sch80 CPVC chamber. I have a 10ft chuck of 2in sch80 CPVC for a barrel but I'm waiting for my 1.5in sdr to arrive. In the mean time I'm going to use my 2.5in x 10ft sch40 tennis ball barrel. I used .5in sch 80 for the meter pipe so that it would match the rest of the gun. I use 1 layer of clear plastic disposable plates as burst discs whick hold to about 60PSI.

I thought you werent supposed to use CPVC on combustion chambers espically a hybrid. Nice gun though.

A hybrid is powered by combustion. The combustion in a hybrid is more powerful. The reason why is in a hybrid you increase both the amount of fuel and air. Normally in a combustion gun you would have around 4.03% propane but with a hybrid you increase the amount of propane but when you increase the amount of propane you also increase the air pressure to keep the ratio between the gas and the air equal. The amounts can vary hybrid to hybrid but the ratio stays some what the same. You dont have to use propane for your fuel but that is what most people use.

1) Please do some searching go here mcmaster.com
2) Depends on the mixture for a 2x mix it would read 14.7 and for a 3x it would read 29.4 then the pattern continues....

I wasn't aware either, exactly what a hybrid entails, 5 months ago I had never heard of a potato cannon and then my nephew Jake said they used to have one. So far I have built 4 pneumatics and about 7 combustions . I have been shooting my largest cannon by using a plastic cup to plug the combustion ,Loading extra fuel and then pumping in a few pounds of air through a tire valve . boy will that thing shoot. So I guess I've been using it as a sort of ghetto hybrid .

Yes it would of been a hybrid. But if you only put in a few pounds it would only be like a 1.15 to 1.25 mix. When you did this did you realize why you were adding air and extra fuel or was it on accident and then you realized that it gave it more power? If you came up with it on your thats good.

I came up with the idea on my own. I wasn't even aware of how the hybrids work because I just haven't really paid much attention to them yet , but I am slowly learning about these things one at a time , after buillding combustions and pneumatics I began to focus on getting them to work better and I have improved some of my earlier cannons a lot by doing things to get the cb ratios corrected . On some I added more barrel and on one I split the chamber in half and lengthened it. My pneumatics perform beyond anything I expected so I havent changed them much.In the last few days I have been building small combustions ,3 so far . they a re really a lot of fun ,I shoot spuds ,paintballs and marbles in them. I shot a marble through a can with one today.
sometimes potatoes a re kind of hign priced and I have to fall back on other types of ammo to keep me going. I orderd a stun gun a few days ago and it should be in soon. This will help me to learn about something I've never done yet. I work with one thing at a time until I fully know what it will do ,then I move on to something else.

why dont you add nitrous oxide, like on dragsters?it is an oxidizer ,and would up the power to a whole nother level of insanity

Like I said before, insane death and insane stupidity.

If anything cpvc would be safer for combustions because it's rated for hot water where normal pvc isn't.
