Ok I'll tell my story chaps!: At the age now of 35(yeh im old!) perhaps the oldest on here  I thought I had seen/heard the Aussie cops do it all. For years I had looked online over and over for a way of getting some AIRSOFT GUNS in Australia, I has some in the early 1990's when you buy them at any Army Surplus store, heaps of diffent types: Glocks,Desert Eagles,1911 etc all were only springers but quite powerful!!.

I was on google one day(5 years back?) I stumble on a tiny forum regarding Airsoft in Australia but not that shithouse AIRSOFT AUSTRALIA forum thats up now.The older forum is now gone,I stupidly posted on there saying how I think I could get an airsoft gun sent through Tasmania and then up to me over here in Australia's mainland.I said this due to getting banned horror films through like this no prob for years, from a mate down there:these were comming from Holland then to Tassie.
I get this email from someone off the Airsoft forums asking where they can buy AIRSOFT GUNS,SLINGSHOTS,BLANK GUNS, I spoke to them online 2-3 times but couldnt give much help to them. I then try send another email a week later, my computer was playing up at that point(Virus I think?) and it sends back my mail saying"UNABLE TO SEND MESSAGE TO TASMANIAN FIREARMS BRANCH"!!!!!!!!!!!!!? .

I couldnt believe it!,after that I spoke to no one for ages on this stuff but then signed up with the old SPUDTECH forums, gained a LOT of knowlege and made my own BB Guns, Cannons,Pnuematics. I wouldnt be surprised if there was Aussie cops signed up on here as well, probably why I just Lurke about on these forums. The laws on BB GUNS etc here are completely insane.

At the same time I had posted on that Airsoft site, I had sent to New Zealand( Lucky Bastards!!!) for a Desert Eagle airsoft pistol, it was going to my mate in tasmania,he would then send it to me.We thought it would go straight from New Zealand to Tasmania, but it did'nt in fact it went to melbourne first and Aussie customs found it!!. My mate had to sign for an official letter,he opens it and it" really harshly" warns that if he ever trys import another bb gun he will have to go go to court!!!!!.
I had rang the shop in New Zealand before all this and asked if he had shipped successfully here before?, he says yeh"just last week I sent 4X.177 Airpistols to NSW and they got them!. These days you cant get anything past customs as they now screen EVERY SINGLE OVERSEAS PACKAGE.

haha funny story but i highly doubt the police dedicate all their resources to catching a few people who like to play with bb guns and have skirmishes with thier friends  although maybe they have a dedicated 'anti-airsoft' branch who deals with you mischief makers  i would seriously hate living in such a tight country although here in the UK the laws surrounding airsoft and replicar firearms are tightening, you now have to be on a register to buy airsoft guns, i suppose its like an airsoft liscense  stoopid government

I know this may be a bit to big but I have found some plastic 16mm slingshot ammo here in QLD which is bright yellow and indestructible and I mean indestructible!
I bought it from my local disposal store in a bag of 200 for about $9.65.
They are made right here in Yatala QLD. Phone number on site.

http://www.supapeg.com.au/products.htm

I know it says 12mm only but I have 16mm sitting right here in front of me.
The best bit is that it is a good fit in 20mm electrical conduit(grey colour only). The 16mm ones are approx 15.81mm round and 20mm conduit is 16.10mm inside diameter.
These things fly very well. good for about 25/30M at least before they peel of into the "never never"

SleekZ wrote:I'm heaps keen to make a fairly accurate bb gun/rifle (won't bother actually rifling the barrel tho) and need a bit of help with the design, basically;
-I want it to have pretty decent range/power and accuracy
-it needs to be portable i.e. have it's own air source (I realise each shot will get progressively weaker)
-I'd like to get like at least ten shots out of each refill of the reservoir/tank
-the simpler the better
-fairly cheap
-semi-auto or not....(doesn't need to be a machine gun is what I'm trying to say!)

any ideas on this would be much appreciated as I'm keen to get this project underway.
Sorry if there are similiar posts that I didn't see...
thanks everyone

Here's a really quick diagram of something that I started working on but never really finished. The original was was built around nerf darts but I suppose you could change it so it fits what you're looking for.

The clothespin trigger I used can be explained here. I didn't come up with it though.[/i]
