Hi Spudfiles.
I just joined, and I have like 2 questions I need to be answered quick! Ive been looking around the Wiki section, and I saw Inline Vortex BBMG. And here are the questions

1. For an Inline Vortex BBMG, how do you hook up the ammo chamber to the vortex block? a 3rd hole in the vortex block? Or make the ammo inside the vortex chamber? ( Like when u unscrew the cap, you see the vortex block)

2. Where do you get a 6mm barrel? ( I airsoft, so I know approxamatly how big the bbs are. I looked around a Sports shop, and couldn't find it )

Thanks

1. Aren't there gaps for the ammo to fall around into the vortex?

2. I'd have thought this to be obvious. You can use brakeline, or go online and buy a purpose made airsoft barrel. A tightbore, rifled barrel will give the most performance.

the vortex dosnt take up the whole chamber, (correct me if im wrond guys) but usually, its not more then 3/4" wide and in a 1.5" or 2" pipe, theres plenty of room for the bbs to go around the sides

brakelines good, or if me, you have an airsoft gun that your little brother happens to drop about 6 feet and it cracks a piece thats worth more to fix then the gun.... anyway, airsoft barrels work great, and if you use a hopup, it shoots pretty straight too

Yes, the vortex block would not take up the whole chamber so there is plenty of room for BBs to go in the side. This page in the wiki really helped me when I built my BBMG.

As for the barrel, if you don't want to buy an airsoft barrel, you can go to an auto parts store and buy 5/16 inch brakeline for fairly cheap. Airsoft barrel might be a better fit but if you have to buy something, brakeline is the way to go.

Ok, Ill use a airsoft barrel. I just found one at GI Airsoft, It is about 30 dollars, and it is app. 580mm barrel.

And I got the vortex, should I make it out of PVC or something? Because I am not a big metal worker.

if you can get sheet pvc (more like plate) that would work. people have made them out of wood, bondo, laminated plastic sheets, metal, anything you can think of.

I can't think of anyone having made one out of just pipe, but it should be doable, as long as you aren't afraid to get creative.

I had made mine out of a piece of 20mm electrical conduit in an epoxy block for my standalone project.

I used a filler similar to Bondo for mine. I used a short piece of the same diameter pipe as my vortex chamber for the mold and cut it down to size. It works great. I roughly followed the instructions here --> http://www.burntlatke.com/bb.html
