i hope you all know what a claymore is. look at this design i have for making a simple claymore out of a shoebox and some springs.
i haven't made but plan to do so in the near future. you pull the pin to fire the thing, i think you can figure the rest out from there...
think of some things to improve on my design, and post.

it doesnt shoot very far (about a foot), but its not a total failure. i can still improve my design. it has a duct tape hinge at the bottom of the board thingy, that keeps the board in place.
Airsoft claymore! with pics now!!!

How does the pin hold the bb's down? I like this though hope it works.
EDIT: ok now you have pics of it fully built, i understand it now, is it powerfull though? does t hurt if you stand infront of it?

there is a piece of wood or cardboard that is between the bbs and the springs. you push the cardboard or wood thingy down and place the pin in to set it in place. then you pull the pin which will cause the springs to release their energy causing the board to fling the bbs.

its a simple design that would be good for some fun. i dont see much power in it but it can always be altered with smaller springs in more places but for fun your plan sounds good.

Seems like a good concept, though I would make it out of half inch plywood if I were going to make one. That would allow for more powerful springs and more durability. Also, I think you'll need a pin on each side of the plate that supports the bbs. Otherwise one side is going to be off balance and you'll lose power bad. I've got an idea that would probably work but you'll have to give me a few minutes to draw it, I've only got one working hand at the moment and it's my off-hand.

- Basically those clips are hinged on the box and hold down the backboard that the bb's rest on. The rod at the bottom would hold them in the locked position but when pulled away, the elastic would pull the backs of the clips together, releasing the backboard and propelling the bb's. Yes I know, I forgot the springs behind the backboard.

Yea, I'm guessing the easter egg could make some nasty shrapnel.

I was thinking cuts, if it hit you the right way I'd think it could leave a good one.
I was just thinking, itd be awesome to set up two of these puppies with a tripwire to set them off at the same time, you could freak someone out.

they do make an airsoft one of these, but they cost too much and it doesn't operate the same way. i was just tryin to think of a cheap alternative.
