well, my first airsoft gun, the UTG spring shotgun, broke today. magazine tube fell right off and the pump handle cracked in halph. VERY sad. well being myself, i opened it right up and found the internals were very simple, and it would be very easy to take out the hop-up, barrel, loading nozzle, and magazine well and hook it up into a rifle.
here are plans i came up with:
(the scope is a Powerline 3-9X32 air rifle scope)
(Plans) Semi-automatic Airsoft Gas Sniper Rifle

- The Plans. the above drawing is the actual gun. the magazine, magazine well, hop-up chamber and barrel are all parts of the shotgun. the gold tube covered with lines is a blow-foward bolt, the box is an 1/8 inch QEV, the valve behind it an 1/8 inch slide valve, and the hose off of it goes to an air source....

I'd have to warn you though, the more pressure you put in there, the more severe the hopup will be. If its adjustable, your in business though. Although, this can be solved by using heavier ammo, which ends up costing you more over time.

Im making the blow-foard bolt out of precision brass tubing..... i dont know if that counts.
live: basically, machining things for me is out of the question, or else i would have designed this with a hammer valve, bolt catch, select fire system, kind of like the mechanisms you see in modern paintball guns.
i think what i have is hard enough to in and of itself...... and when it works, there are very few actual parts, so it will be quite reliable, perfect for the airsoft feild.
EDIT: the hop-up is adjustable. in the shotgun, it was possible to make even .28's gain altitude during flight. with the hop-up off, there was NO spin. you could tell by the way the BB just dropped after it left the barrel, even if it was a .12. i just did the chop-shop job on my broken shotty to make it small enough to fit in the PVC shell. now all i have to do is get the other parts...........
