Er... it looks nothing like the FG42, in terms of calibre, size and configuration, the only thing they have in common is they're made of steel and wood

Yeah im no gun expert I just liked the look of the FG42 and the wood and black of the other gun reminded me of it...I hadn't seen a picture of a FG42 since about 2years ago so I forgot exactly what it looked like but hey....does it matter?

I'll grant you there are some similarities, like for example the "straight through" muzzle-to-butt configuration to mitigate muzzle rise, yet the FG42 was still chambered for a full powered rifle round and thus cannot be considered to be a true assault rifle. The EM-2 took that concept further in a more compact bullpup configuration, couple with the lower powered 7x43mm intermediate power round as pioneered by the WW2 era Stg-44 rifle.

Yeah but isn't there two versions of the FG42? A rifle version with the scope thats semi-auto and the full-auto version? Well anyway we are starting to go a tad offtopic

AFAIK all FG42s could fire either semi or full auto and they all had dovetail grooves capable of taking a scope but they were rarely fitted with one, I think you're referring to the Gewehr 43 - but yeah, off topic

I think it would work, though it might not last too long.

get your hands on one of these, they're not too expensive:

The trigger's already there, all you have to do is attach the cloud chamber and you're in business

There is a really nice mod for those things here: http://www.bunkerboyz.com/phog/showthre ... 357&page=1

Doing that mod would keep the pressure around 800psi instead of it dropping instantly from a 12gram.
Forever dreaming...

is there anything out there that i could substitute that co2 canister with?
without having to mod the actual shape of the toy gun too much..
it just its hard to find those things in australia.
