after seeing a topic about the original BBMG i thought that the design specified in one of the patents would make a perfect clip fed gun with some minor modifications. so i set out to create an early prototype form scrap part that were lying around and it ended up like this...

<img src="http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j85/i ... CN3055.jpg">

<img src="http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j85/i ... CN3056.jpg">

<img src="http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j85/i ... CN3057.jpg">

<img src="http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j85/i ... CN3058.jpg">
the clip removed to expose the very simple internals

<img src="http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j85/i ... CN3059.jpg">
another view of the internals

<img src="http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j85/i ... CN3060.jpg">
the "clip"

<img src="http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j85/i ... CN3061.jpg">
the clip with some bbs loaded into it.

as you can see its a pretty early prototype considering the blowgun isnt even properly mounted. the internals are quite simple, two pieces of polyethylene tubing (1/4" and 3/8" OD) the larger tube goes up then bends and connect to the barrel, the other tube is connected to the blow gun. the bend in the BB tube appears to put some form of natural hop up on the bb becuase the rise as soon as the come out of the gun, i may be able to eliminate the problem by putting an upside down hop chamber in the gun. it has an effective range of about 80 feet and a max range of 120 (with a barrel i pulled out of a hardball shotgun)

goals for final version...

quick release clip (cam locks)
modular design (switch out barrels, chambers, valves, ect)
run off 88g or 9oz CO2 canister (all i need is an adapter)
design it to fit within a shell of a real airsoft gun

oh stupid question looked at pics again dohi i wold suggest fofr more rounds per min widen the tupe that picks up the bbs also what pressure you shoot it at

Wow, nice idea! I have never seen a BBMG like this before. Hmmm... this might just make me rip out the internals of my semi-broken 80$ airsoft AEG to pwen my friends!

I do not have much experience with clouds, but I understand that they use up a lot or air. How long do you think a 12 oz paintball tank would last?

the only thing within the tee fitting itself are the tubes, there is a lot of wasted space in this prototype, i hope to eliminate most of this in the final version. i was thing about tapering the BB tube but i though it might jam becuase it submerged in the BBs. i don't think i really need a bater fire rate its got to be at least 50 rps, the sound of it firing is almost identical to my inline vortex.

this is my first cloud so i really don't know how much air its using or if it more or less efficient that a standard cloud. if you can think of a some way to test air usage i can try the test in my setup.

can you give me a link to the others?, are you talking about the patent thing, cause that where i got the idea i just modified it a bit to have a "clip".

Hmm, maybe test how fast it empties a 12g co2?

thats pretty cool. it reminds me of some kind of labratory apparatus. i cant remember what but its cool.

the only problem I see is the BB's coming out. If you are open to my suggestion for a clip PM me, i dont feel like using paint right now.

basically, its a block of wood, with one HUGE hole at the bottom and 6mm holes on both sides running down. then, the whole thing is sandwiched into an Airsoft magazine. basically blow in one hole, BB's fly out the other. simply use feed lips from the old airsoft magazines (the ones with the little things that stick out) on each hole. when the clip pops in, the tubes would seal and the little BB holder mabobers would open up, and youd be ready to go.

Basically, the "Gun" will be a barrel and a blowgun. the clip is basically the gun.

interesting i actually had an idea similiar to this but the tubes wouldnt allow the bb's to flow easily through them.
can i be a sasquatch ?

Good idea man. I can't believe no ones built a BBMG like this yet. All you nee dto do now is paint it! I really like the gun. Great work.

the problem with using existing airsoft guns feeding mecs (the little nozzle thing) is that the bbs would be forced straight up then have to make a 90 degree turn. on top of that i don't think wood is pressure rated and i would bet there is at bare minimum 20psi in the system when its fired. sorry for ripping apart your idea VH Man but i have been thinking about this for a few days now and gone through a hole bunch of ideas. i think i may found something that will work, its pretty close to your idea actually... heres a picture

<img src="http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j85/i ... totype.jpg">
very similar in design to an airsoft high cap magazine, minus the spring part.

about the 12g thing my only adapter has to slow of a flow rate to do anything more than dust things (its true purpose) so sorry thats not an option any other ideas?

yea the tubing took a bit of adjusting the curve in it to fire. after i got it right i heated it up with a blowtorch so it would not bend back to its original form

Thanks!! You have done my research for me.I have been working on a similar design yesterday..
I have taken apart my steel cannon and was trying to figure out a way to use the parts as a strafer( full CO2 pressure with pressure washer handle)
I ended up with an exterior design configured just like this one.That seemed to be the most appealing configuration.
I based it off the bottom feeders the guy from Takerlabs has experimented with, but he used some eleborate vortex design at the bottom of the mag.see: http://www.geocities.com/takerlabs/index.htm
He has been a true pioneer in this field. All hail to him!

I was hoping I didn't need the same feed system and could just use a tube that goes up from the bottom to the barrel.
I guess you showed it's all you need.The incoming air doesn't need to agitate the bb's upward.
As I guessed the "rise tube"acts as a vacume cleaner and just sucks them up.
This means you dont even need the long tube to guide the incoming air.
You could in theory connect the blowgun anywhere..
The escaping air from the pressurised body does all the work.

If you made one of these for paint balls, do you think a air compressor would be strong enough to work it? Paint balls being heavier, bigger needing more umph to get good range???

haha thats EXACTLY what i was thinking of........... we seem to do this alot. ah well. i might actually do this, seeing as i just came into possesion of not 2, but 3 broken LPEG's AND A 9oz CO2 THINGIE!!!!!!!1

and you do realize that blowing across a tube makes suction, correct? if you got a high enough flow rate the gun could literally suck the BB's out of the clip and into the barrel. then this setup could be built using an AEG hop-up chamber and an AEG magazine......... YAY NO FABRICATION

a standard AEG hop chamber would jam because of the 90 degree turn it takes from the clip to the barrel and the mag inst exactly pressure rated or even sealed completely for that matter. oh wait do you mean blowing like straight through the hop chamber and barrel and sucking the BBs up kinda like a venturi pump?

i don't think a compressor could be used for a paintball vortex/cloud, i have been thinking of a prototype for that too. leaf blower! it wouldn't even be remotely tactical but it would be pretty friggin cool

Yes, i mean like a venturi pump. and btw, if you leave the magazine spring loaded, youre ROF will go up insanely high. like empty a hicap in 30 seconds kind of fast........................................................

it makes for an easy as hell build though..................
