Has anyone on here ever used a QEV as the main valve on a strafer? I am thinking about doing it, but I wanted to see if anyone else had done it before, and what their results were. I think that if I use a .25" QEV, connected to a 3/8" air compressor hose, and a cloud strafer, with a ten gallon air tank as the air supply, it would really increase the performance. Any comments/suggestions are very much appreciated.
It's hard to soar with eagles when you're working with turkeys.

To make a strafer with more power than one that uses a blowgun as the valve.

A ballvalve should do. But I suppose a QEV would release faster. Would it be a restriction though?

Well, I guess it would all depend on the size of QEV, I might change it to a 3/8" QEV, but I think a .25" would do.

A QEV is NOT designed to be used for continuous blasts of air like a blowgun or a ballvalve. They are made to release all, if not most of the air in a container immediately. Your strafer would only be burst fire if you used a QEV as a trigger valve.

That's the point, a short but powerful blast of air.

Hmn...then it would be quite cool, however you would need a tiny chamber and 150PSI + to have it work well. I might use this idea as I have a few spare QEVs laying around my garage waiting to be used.

Wouldn't a larger chamber be better for a more powerful burst?

I meant to say a small BB chamber so that the air expands less when exhausting from the QEV.

Oh, now it makes sense.

Not a QEV but close enough. I used a piston valve for a burst fire BBMG, I imagine a QEV would give similar performance (though if you're using lower pressure, go for a much larger chamber and increased ammo capacity)
