ok i have this idea for a airsoft gun froma paintball gun. now my question is what do u think would shoot a plastic bb harder? The gasses in a paintball gun tht usually shoot the ball out. OR if i used the hammer in the paintball gun to puch the pistion device used in other airsoft guns? The hammer would hit really hard and fast but i dont know if it would be better then the air it uses to shoot a paintball.

Use Air, much more adjustable and you can pressure it up higher than the piston can hit
Yea, that's definitely going to get you at least a tazer.

What he said, and use a QEV for your firing valve. Easy to build, and work great!

could you maybe give a better description or drawing, i'm not understanding how you will need air one way but not the other.

youd get a lot more power using the gases, the piston moving in the paint ball gun is too short also too slow considering its used for loading the paintball, it has to be slow enogh not to rupture the paint ball, and hav it load under gravity. i would try just loading the hopper with bbs and see what would happen, it be like an auto-shotty-sniper it would be sick and easy to do

just make a bit of a sleeve around a bb barrel and put it down inside the paint ball barrel, that will give you a single shot kind of gun

but if u want it to be semi i recommend doing something like jack did and his blow forward bolt thingy

to experament

tht is exactly what i did. but the when i simulated bbs loading when the bolt was seally the chamber. So the bbs are just siting above the bolt. Then i moved the bolt back to simulate relaoding and the bbs dropped in fine BUT NONE of the bbs fell in the little half round cutout on the barrel.
