Old marksman question

Do you guys know any information on this rifle?I found it in my grandpa's old garage I cant seem to find it on Google. Its an old marksman break barrel pellet rifle, it says .177 cal 14.5mm on one side, the other side says model 1780 .177 cal Huntington beach usa. pat 3-908-626

looks ok ive got the same problem with one of my guns exept mine doesnt have any writing on it lol

Poor man's chrony really only works with .20g plastic bb's... :roll:

then get a rifle you know the fps of, shoot something thick and hard (no male genitalia jokes :roll: ) then shoot it with the old gun and compare the depths of penetration, then just make an educated guess

well its my only rifle now since my dad trashed the other ones 3 years ago, but i do have a 1.5 inch porting piston gun to compare to :lol:, i wonder what a 3 lb slug would do compared to .177 pellets? haha kidding.

Your rifle is most likely in the 450 fps range. I've had several Marksmans that were similar. They shoot nice and smooth on account of the small spring and piston.

I bet if you googled you could find the "poorman" info for bbs and pellets.

Got a PC and mic? Just record the gun firing and the round hitting something. Not all that complicated. (search these forums)

Looks like it has the same action as the Beeman FH500 so I agree with Matheusilla, less than 500 fet per second.
